King River Resources Unveils High-Grade Gold Hits in 2024 Kurundi Drilling

Strong High-Grade Gold Intersections at Kurundi Main

King River Resources Ltd (ASX: KRR) has delivered a compelling update on its 2024 assay results from the Kurundi Main and Regional targets within its Tennant Creek project. The highlight comes from Phase 2 drilling at Kurundi Main, where deeper holes intersected significant gold mineralization, including a standout 7 meters at 5.8 grams per tonne (g/t) gold, featuring a 1-meter interval grading an impressive 26 g/t Au. This confirms the southerly plunge of high-grade mineralization and supports the presence of a high-grade footwall structure previously reported.

Another key hole, TTRC175, intersected 11 meters at 0.69 g/t Au from 69 meters depth, including higher-grade intervals of 3.39 g/t and 2.54 g/t Au, marking a notable improvement over earlier results. The drilling confirmed that the Kurundi structure remains robust and open at depth, with mineralization barely tested beyond 60 meters vertical, suggesting significant exploration upside.

New Mineralized Structures and Regional Targets

Beyond the main zone, exploration drilling identified three new anomalously mineralized structures near Kurundi Main, with grades up to 0.15 g/t Au, 0.25% copper, and 26 ppm silver. A newly discovered target structure 250 meters northeast of Kurundi Main revealed historical underground workings and strong veining at shallow depths, presenting an exciting new focus for upcoming drilling campaigns.

Regional exploration at Millers and Tarragans also yielded encouraging results. At Millers, geochemically anomalous ironstones were discovered, including 1 meter at 0.7% copper and elevated bismuth levels, reminiscent of Tennant Creek’s IOCG (Iron Oxide Copper Gold) style mineralization. Drilling at Tarragans intersected multiple gold-anomalous structures, with grades reaching up to 1.17 g/t Au, reinforcing the prospectivity of these satellite targets.

Strategic Implications and Next Steps

The 2024 drilling program, comprising 36 reverse circulation holes totaling 2,472 meters at Kurundi Main and 26 holes at regional targets, has significantly advanced King River Resources’ understanding of the mineralization framework. The company’s integrated approach combining geophysics, geochemistry, and drilling is uncovering multiple zones of mineralization with encouraging grades and widths.

Looking ahead, King River Resources plans to intensify exploration in 2025, targeting follow-up drilling at Kurundi Main’s high-grade zones and newly identified structures, as well as advancing drilling at undrilled targets such as Kuiper and Rover East. The ongoing processing and interpretation of geophysical and assay data are expected to generate further drill targets, keeping the market engaged with progressive updates.
