Olympio Metals Limited (ASX – OLY) has announced an extension to its diamond drilling campaign at the Bousquet Gold Project in Quebec, Canada, focusing on the Amadee Prospect. This decision follows encouraging geological observations and historical data suggesting that Amadee and the nearby Paquin Prospect may be part of the same mineralised structure along the Cadillac Break, a renowned gold-bearing regional fault system.

Located approximately 30 kilometres east of Rouyn-Noranda, the Bousquet Project sits within a prolific gold district known for world-class deposits. The recent discovery of visible gold in drill core at Paquin has heightened interest in the adjacent Amadee zone, where historic shallow drilling from the 1940s intersected gold grades such as 1.52 metres at 6.8 grams per tonne.

Geological Continuity and Historical Context

Field inspections by Olympio’s exploration team revealed smoky quartz veins at Amadee that closely resemble those hosting high-grade gold mineralisation at Paquin. Both prospects appear to lie on a moderately north-dipping structure, with mineralisation associated with stacked and stockwork quartz veins and sulphides. Historical drilling and surface sampling indicate that the Amadee mineralisation extends over 200 metres along strike, potentially linking with Paquin’s mineralised corridor stretching over one kilometre.

To date, eight holes totaling 898 metres have been drilled at Amadee in the current program, with multiple zones of veining and sulphides identified from surface down to 80 metres depth. Based on these encouraging signs, Olympio has proposed three additional holes to test the western extent of the mineralisation, aiming to better define the continuity and depth potential of the gold system.

Broader Project Potential and Next Steps

Beyond Amadee and Paquin, Olympio is also targeting other prospects within the Bousquet Project, including the Decoeur Extension, where geophysical surveys have identified a significant induced polarisation anomaly along a major regional fault. The company holds an option to earn an 80% interest in the project from Bullion Gold Resources, with a royalty structure involving several parties including Falco, Barrick Gold, and others.

Olympio’s Managing Director, Sean Delaney, emphasised the team’s excitement about the program’s progress and the potential for a major gold discovery. The first assay results from the current drilling campaign are expected from mid-July, which will provide critical data to guide further exploration and resource definition efforts.

While the historical data provides a valuable foundation, Olympio acknowledges the need for careful verification and re-assaying to ensure accuracy and to fully understand the mineralisation’s extent and grade.
