The recent assays derive from re-analysis of historic drill core originally drilled by Centrex Metals between 2002 and 2012. This core, previously targeted for iron ore, was re-examined to unlock the overlooked base metal potential beneath the Banded Iron Formation units. Lincoln’s geological team identified multiple sulphide-rich zones, with mineralisation hosted in key stratigraphic horizons such as the Upper Katunga Transitional Zone and the Mylonite Shear Zone. These zones contain disseminated chalcopyrite, bornite, sphalerite, and galena, indicating a robust polymetallic system.

Strengthening the Geological Model

The new assay results not only confirm continuity with previously reported high-grade intercepts but also reveal mineralisation remains open along strike and at depth, particularly to the north. Noteworthy intercepts include 0.3 metres at 0.18% copper, 2% zinc, and 4.6 grams per tonne silver from 451 metres in drill hole BUDD100, and 0.7 metres at 3.1% zinc and 0.46% lead from 201 metres in BUDD179.
