Gorilla Gold Unveils New High-Grade Gold Zone at Happy Jack Prospect

Exploration Breakthrough at Happy Jack

Gorilla Gold Mines Ltd (ASX – GG8) has reported a breakthrough discovery at the Happy Jack Prospect, part of its 100%-owned Comet Vale Gold Project in Western Australia’s prolific Goldfields region. The first-ever drilling at Happy Jack has returned a standout intercept of 21 metres grading 11.6 grams per tonne gold from just 23 metres depth, signalling a new high-grade zone close to surface.

This intercept is particularly notable as it occurs on a previously unrecognised mineralised structure parallel to the main Happy Jack trend, located about 50 metres south of historical workings. Additional mineralisation was also identified 50 metres north of the main structure, highlighting multiple mineralised positions within a compact area. These findings suggest the presence of a complex and potentially extensive gold system that had remained undetected until now.

Expanding a Camp-Scale Gold System

Happy Jack lies along a 10-kilometre corridor that includes other promising prospects such as Lakeview and Sovereign. Gorilla Gold’s CEO, Charles Hughes, emphasised the scale of the opportunity, noting that the discovery supports the company’s view of a large, camp-scale gold system with multiple parallel structures hosting high-grade mineralisation. This corridor has a history of gold production exceeding 200,000 ounces at grades above 20 grams per tonne, primarily from the Sovereign Prospect.

The company’s ongoing multi-rig drilling campaign, involving three diamond and two reverse circulation rigs, is actively testing several targets across Comet Vale, including Lakeview, Sovereign North, Cheer, and now Happy Jack. The drilling at Lakeview is focused on down-dip extensions of known high-grade lodes, while exploration rigs are systematically advancing the understanding of the Silverback trend, which encompasses Happy Jack and Cheer.

Towards a Resource Upgrade and Development

These exploration successes are set to feed into an updated Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) for Comet Vale scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2025. This update will incorporate new drilling results from Happy Jack and other prospects, potentially increasing the project’s resource base significantly. The company is also progressing metallurgical testwork and preliminary mine studies, including hydrogeology and hydrology assessments, to support future development plans.

Gorilla Gold’s strategic acquisition of the Happy Jack prospect in April 2025 and its rapid advancement through maiden drilling underscores the company’s commitment to unlocking the full potential of Comet Vale. The discovery of multiple mineralised structures within a previously underexplored area highlights the prospectivity of the project and the potential for further high-grade gold discoveries.
