Golden Range Project Drilling Update
Warriedar Resources Limited (ASX, WA8) has announced further positive assay results from its ongoing drilling program at the Golden Range Project in Western Australia's Murchison region. The latest results, covering 20 drillholes including reverse circulation and diamond tail drilling, highlight promising extensions of gold mineralisation at the M1 deposit and confirm historical data at the Valencia deposit. Meanwhile, drilling at the Goldener Grove prospect has yet to yield significant intervals.
The M1 deposit, situated adjacent to the existing Golden Range processing plant, has historically been mined for near-surface high-grade oxidised gold. The current Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) for M1 stands at approximately 27,400 ounces at 2.9 grams per tonne gold. The recent drilling campaign targeted extensions beyond this resource, both at depth and along strike to the north and south.
Notably, several intercepts from the M1 southern extension returned encouraging grades, including 8 meters at 3.77 grams per tonne gold from 28 meters depth, and 8 meters at 2.36 grams per tonne from 40 meters. Deeper drilling also revealed mineralisation with 8 meters at 1.79 grams per tonne from 213 meters. These results suggest potential to grow the M1 resource beyond current boundaries.
Valencia Deposit Validates Historical Data
At the Valencia deposit, located just south of the flagship Ricciardo deposit, five infill holes were drilled to verify historical results and support future resource estimation. The drilling confirmed key gold intercepts such as 8 meters at 2.42 grams per tonne gold, including a high-grade 1 meter interval at 8.13 grams per tonne, and 11 meters at 1.23 grams per tonne including 1 meter at 5.15 grams per tonne. These results reinforce confidence in the deposit's potential and geological continuity.
Drilling at the Goldener Grove prospect, funded partly through the Western Australian Government’s Exploration Incentive Scheme, targeted a volcanogenic massive sulfide deposit style but has not yet returned significant mineralisation. Downhole electromagnetic surveys are planned to investigate off-hole conductors that may indicate mineralisation away from the drill traces.
Broader Project Context and Outlook
The Golden Range Project’s ‘Golden Corridor’ area now hosts an existing Mineral Resource Estimate of approximately 2.22 million ounces gold equivalent, with several deposits including M1, Windinne Well, Azure Coast, and Bugeye showing potential for resource growth. Warriedar continues to advance its exploration efforts with three rigs currently operating at the Ricciardo deposit, despite some delays caused by recent wet weather.
Warriedar’s strong capital position, with A$24.4 million cash and zero debt as of 30 June 2025, underpins its capacity to pursue these growth opportunities. Managing Director Amanda Buckingham highlighted the significance of validating historical data and extending mineralisation at multiple deposits, reinforcing the company’s growth strategy within the Golden Corridor.
Bottom Line?
Warriedar’s latest drilling results reinforce the Golden Range Project’s growth potential, setting the stage for updated resource estimates and further exploration progress.
Questions in the middle?
- How will the new M1 drilling results impact the upcoming Mineral Resource Estimate update?
- What are the next steps and timelines for drilling and evaluation at Goldener Grove following the downhole EM surveys?
- How might recent wet weather delays affect the pace of exploration and development at Ricciardo?
