Drilling Set to Unlock Errolls Potential

Breakthrough Minerals (ASX, BTM) has announced the imminent commencement of a Reverse Circulation (RC) drilling program at its Errolls Gold Project, located in the Murchison region of Western Australia. The project, wholly owned by Breakthrough, sits within the Barrambie Greenstone Belt and is strategically positioned along the Youanmi Shear Zone, a major structural feature known to host gold mineralization.

The upcoming drilling campaign aims to extend the known zones of shallow, high-grade gold mineralization previously identified at Errolls. Notably, earlier drilling intersected impressive grades including 22 metres at 7.46 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from surface, with standout intervals such as 5 metres at 31.76 g/t and 3 metres at 51.85 g/t. These results underscore the project's potential to rapidly add value for shareholders.

Soil Sampling Reinforces Prospectivity

Complementing the drilling plans, recent soil sampling programs have yielded encouraging geochemical anomalies along the main Errolls trend. These anomalies are present not only near existing mineralization but also in northern areas covered by transported alluvial material, which historically can mask underlying deposits. The company intends to follow up these findings with aircore drilling to better delineate the shear zone and identify priority targets for subsequent RC drilling.

Breakthrough’s Executive Director, Peretz Schapiro, highlighted the strategic focus of the campaign, "We are excited to commence our maiden drilling campaign at Errolls, targeting extensions to the high-grade zones. The new geochemical data confirms the shear zone’s prospectivity along the project length, providing a clear roadmap for exploration."

Exploration Strategy and Next Steps

The initial drilling program is expected to cover up to 2,500 metres, with several drill lines already cleared in the northern part of the project for future aircore work. Pending rock chip assay results, expected by the end of September, will further inform the exploration strategy. The Errolls project’s geological setting, characterized by massive quartz veins along a granite-greenstone contact, presents a classic orogenic gold system with potential for high-grade mineralization at shallow depths.

While the company awaits new drilling results, the combination of historical high-grade intercepts and recent geochemical data positions Errolls as a compelling exploration story in the Western Australian gold sector. The project’s location within a prolific gold belt adds to its appeal for investors seeking exposure to emerging gold discoveries.
