Mount Hope Mining Limited (ASX – MHM) has announced the delineation of new high-priority drill targets at its 100% owned Mt Hope Project in New South Wales. This follows the completion of a Moving Loop Transient Electromagnetic (MLTEM) survey, which has highlighted significant conductive anomalies at the Fenceline and Mt Solar prospects.
The standout discovery is a robust electromagnetic conductor at the Fenceline prospect, measuring 1,170 Siemens. Situated just 2 kilometres east of historic copper mines Great Central and Comet, this conductor aligns with a major northwest-southeast structural trend and volcanic porphyry rocks known to host mineralisation in the region.
Mt Solar – A Historically Rich Prospect with Untapped Potential
The Mt Solar prospect, historically mined and known for structurally controlled copper and gold mineralisation, has also yielded multiple priority targets. These coincide with soil and rock chip geochemical anomalies and untested VTEM targets identified in previous airborne surveys. Notably, historic drilling at Mt Solar includes intercepts such as 12 metres at 3.78 grams per tonne gold from 24 metres depth, underscoring the prospect’s potential.
Mount Hope Mining’s Managing Director Fergus Kiley emphasised the significance of these findings, describing Fenceline as a “Greenfields” style target that had been overlooked until now. He highlighted the strategic location of Mt Solar at the junction of major structures and atop an igneous intrusion, which could be conducive to further mineralisation.
Next Steps – Drilling Campaign on the Horizon
To validate these geophysical and geochemical targets, Mount Hope Mining plans to commence a scout reverse circulation drilling program of approximately 1,000 metres later this year, pending regulatory approvals. This initial drilling will test the Fenceline conductor and the high-priority targets at Mt Solar, aiming to extend known mineralisation and potentially uncover new zones.
