Mithril Unveils Massive Silver-Gold Expansion at Copalquin with Drilling Underway

Mithril Silver and Gold Limited has expanded its high-grade silver-rich Target 5 at the Copalquin district in Mexico, with surface samples hitting up to 3,300 g/t silver and 2.0 g/t gold. Drilling programs at multiple targets are progressing, promising significant resource growth.

  • Target 5 expanded to over 2 km × 2 km with exceptional silver-gold grades
  • Nine drill holes completed at Target 5; assays pending
  • Resource extension at Target 1 increases strike length to over 1,200 meters
  • Preparations for maiden drilling at Target 3 advancing rapidly
  • District-wide aerial magnetic survey and petrographic studies underway

Exploration Breakthrough at Target 5

Mithril Silver and Gold Limited has reported a significant expansion of its silver-rich Target 5 within the Copalquin gold-silver district in Durango State, Mexico. Surface and underground sampling have revealed grades as high as 3,300 grams per tonne (g/t) silver and 2.0 g/t gold over 1.4 meters at the historic Tasolera mine area. This expansion now covers an area exceeding 2 kilometers by 2 kilometers, underscoring the district’s robust mineral potential.

Drilling at Target 5 is well underway, with nine holes completed to date focusing on multiple northwest-trending vein systems, including those beneath the historic Apomal mine workings. While assay results are still pending, early indications are promising, supported by widespread high-grade surface and underground samples.

Resource Growth at Target 1 and New Frontiers at Target 3

At Target 1, resource expansion drilling has successfully extended the east-west mineralized structure by an additional 300 meters to the west, pushing the total strike length beyond 1,200 meters. Assays from this program are awaited but are expected to reinforce the high-grade nature of the resource.

Meanwhile, preparations for maiden drilling at Target 3 are progressing swiftly, with drill pads and access roads under development. The addition of a third drill rig is planned for early 2026, reflecting Mithril’s commitment to accelerating exploration efforts across the district.

District-Scale Geological Insights and Future Plans

Supporting these drilling campaigns, Mithril is initiating a district-wide aerial magnetic survey scheduled for later this month. This geophysical work, combined with ongoing petrographic fluid inclusion studies, aims to refine the geological model of the Copalquin district, which spans 70 square kilometers and hosts over 100 historic gold-silver mines and workings.

The Copalquin district already boasts a maiden JORC mineral resource estimate at the El Refugio-La Soledad area, with indicated and inferred resources totaling approximately 373,000 ounces of gold and nearly 11 million ounces of silver. Metallurgical test work has demonstrated high recovery rates for both metals, supporting the potential for efficient on-site processing.

Fully funded for a 45,000-meter drilling program over the next 12 to 14 months, Mithril is strategically positioned to unlock further resource growth and advance the Copalquin project toward development.

Bottom Line?

As assay results emerge and drilling intensifies, Mithril’s Copalquin district could soon reshape the silver-gold landscape in Mexico.

Questions in the middle?

  • What will the pending assay results from Target 5 reveal about the continuity and grade of mineralization?
  • How will the addition of a third drill rig in early 2026 impact the pace and scale of exploration at Target 3?
  • What insights will the upcoming aerial magnetic survey provide to refine the district-scale geological model?
