Expanding Horizons at Kitumba

Patriot Resources Limited (ASX – PAT) has announced a promising advancement in its exploration efforts at the Kitumba Project in Zambia, completing 344 metres of trenching at Target B1. This initial phase, part of a planned 600-metre program, has revealed a substantial expansion of the surface copper footprint, increasing the strike length from a modest 40 metres to an estimated 200 metres, with widths between 20 to 30 metres and open-ended along strike.

Visible Signs of Mineralisation

The trenches exposed strongly limonitic, carbonated, and silicified zones, with the mineralised widths potentially tripling previous interpretations. Notably, visible copper minerals such as malachite, chrysocolla, and chalcopyrite were observed across multiple trenches, providing encouraging visual confirmation of mineralisation. These findings build on historical sampling that indicated copper presence, reinforcing the project's potential.

Sampling and Upcoming Assays

Patriot collected 337 rock-chip samples systematically along the trench walls, which have now been dispatched to certified laboratories in Zambia for copper, gold, and zinc assays. The results, expected within the current quarter, will be critical in quantifying the grades and confirming the economic viability of the mineralised zones. Until then, the visual observations serve as a positive but preliminary indicator.

Next Steps – Geophysics and Drilling Targets

Following trenching, Patriot is preparing to conduct ground magnetics and Induced Polarization (I.P.) surveys over a 30-hectare block encompassing Target B1. These geophysical techniques will help map subsurface structures and detect disseminated copper sulphides, essential for refining future drilling targets. The integration of trenching data with geophysical results is expected to provide a clearer picture of the deposit’s extent and geometry.
