Comet Vale Drilling Yields 15m at 4.4g/t Au, Boosting December Resource Outlook

Exploration Momentum Builds at Comet Vale

Gorilla Gold Mines Ltd (ASX, GG8) is advancing steadily towards a pivotal Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) update for its 100%-owned Comet Vale Gold Project in Western Australia. Following a series of compelling drilling results, particularly from the Cheer Prospect, the company is on track to release an updated resource statement in December 2025 that promises to reshape the project’s outlook.

The recent drilling campaign has delivered impressive intercepts, including 15 meters at 4.4 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from 93 meters depth at Cheer, alongside notable high-grade hits at Lakeview and Sovereign prospects. These results underscore the growing confidence in the project's potential, with intercepts such as 19 meters at 18.1 g/t Au at Lakeview and a remarkable 5 meters at 66.3 g/t Au at Sovereign North.

Transforming Historical Goldfields Potential

Comet Vale has a rich history, having produced over 200,000 ounces of gold at grades exceeding 20 g/t. However, past operators focused primarily on reactivating the Sovereign underground mine rather than extensive exploration. Gorilla Gold’s approach has been to prioritize exploration first, unlocking new high-grade zones and expanding the resource base well beyond the historical footprint.

CEO Charles Hughes highlighted the transformative nature of this year’s drilling, noting that the discoveries at Sovereign North, Lakeview (including King Kong and Jambo lodes), and Cheer have dramatically expanded the project’s high-grade resource potential. These new zones, all within granted mining leases and close to existing infrastructure, position Comet Vale as a significant player in Western Australia’s premier goldfields.

Ongoing Drilling and Future Growth

Currently, Gorilla Gold operates two reverse circulation (RC) rigs and two diamond rigs at Comet Vale, focusing on Cheer, Sovereign North, and Lakeview prospects. The company is also mobilizing teams to the Mulwarrie Project, where resource growth drilling will commence shortly, aiming to upgrade the existing 350,000-ounce resource and convert a substantial portion into reserves.

Beyond the December MRE update, Gorilla Gold is targeting multiple high-priority exploration areas, including the Silverback and Sovereign Shear zones, Lakeview extensions, and the Happy Jack discovery. These efforts are designed to sustain resource growth and support future development options.

Strategic Positioning for Development

With Comet Vale and Vivien projects currently on care and maintenance, Gorilla Gold is actively assessing short-, medium-, and long-term development opportunities. The company’s strategy to build a robust, high-grade resource base before advancing mining operations aims to de-risk and future-proof potential production restarts.

The upcoming MRE update is expected to significantly enhance the resource profile, supported by the highest grades and largest gram-meter intercepts recorded at Comet Vale to date. This positions Gorilla Gold well within the competitive landscape of Western Australia’s gold sector.
