Forelands Project, A New Frontier in WA Gold Exploration

BPM Minerals Ltd (ASX, BPM) has revealed compelling results from its regional exploration review at the Forelands Gold Project in Western Australia. The company’s latest work confirms the presence of a major gold system extending over a 75-kilometre strike along the Yellow Dam Shear Zone, a significant structural corridor known for hosting mineralisation.

Central to this discovery is the newly identified Bonnie & Clyde Prospect, which features a coherent gold-in-soil anomaly stretching approximately six kilometres. Remarkably, this anomaly remains completely untested by drilling, with soil samples returning values exceeding 1 gram per tonne of gold. Such a large, high-tenor anomaly is rare in the current WA exploration landscape and draws comparisons to established Proterozoic gold deposits like Tropicana and Glenburgh.

Strategic Structural Insights and Historical Data Integration

The exploration strategy has been bolstered by a detailed structural review conducted by renowned geologist Dr. Barry Murphy. His analysis has pinpointed multiple high-priority targets, including intersections of deep-seated faults that likely serve as conduits for gold-bearing fluids. This structural framework validates existing prospects such as Beachcomber and Sidecar, while also highlighting new targets like the Scorpion Shear Zone.

Complementing this, a comprehensive review of historical exploration data has expanded the known mineralised footprint. Notable past drill results include significant gold intersections at Dragonfly, Scorpion, and Tomahawk prospects, many of which have yet to undergo reverse circulation (RC) drilling. These findings underscore the district-scale potential of the Forelands Project.

Near-Term Drilling and Exploration Pipeline

BPM is poised to commence a 3,000-metre, 25-hole RC drilling program at the high-grade Beachcomber Prospect imminently. This drilling aims to convert promising historical intercepts into a maiden JORC-compliant resource, potentially accelerating the project’s path toward commercialisation. The company also plans to deploy advanced ultrafine fraction soil sampling techniques across multiple prospects in 2026 to refine drill targets, including the untested Bonnie & Clyde anomaly.

Importantly, BPM has secured a heritage agreement with the UUNAC Native Title Group, facilitating access and exploration activities. The project’s location offers logistical advantages, situated approximately 150 kilometres east of Kalgoorlie and near existing and proposed milling infrastructure, which could streamline future resource processing.
