Exploration Milestone at Arrakis

Yandal Resources (ASX – YRL) has announced a significant step forward in its exploration campaign at the Arrakis Prospect, part of the Ironstone Well-Barwidgee Gold Project in Western Australia. The company has completed its maiden diamond drilling program, comprising four diamond tails extending previous RC holes and four new diamond holes, totaling 1,931 metres. Early assay results from two of these diamond tails reveal broad gold mineralisation with apparent true widths of approximately 35 metres, exceeding earlier interpretations.

Broad and Continuous Mineralisation Confirmed

The initial diamond drilling results include intercepts such as 56.5 metres at 1.3 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from 108 metres depth, including a higher-grade zone of 14.75 metres at 3.3 g/t gold. Another intercept returned 37 metres at 0.6 g/t gold from 180 metres, with a sub-interval grading 6.5 metres at 1.5 g/t gold. These results confirm that the mineralised zone is broader than previously thought and that the host sedimentary unit is laterally continuous over a strike length exceeding 2.2 kilometres, remaining open to the southeast.

Developing a Geological Framework

Geological observations from the diamond core have enabled Yandal’s team to develop a preliminary geological model. This model highlights mineralisation primarily associated with a heavily deformed and altered sedimentary package, bracketed by pillow basalts and dolerite units. Two distinct mineralisation styles have been identified – a broad, lower-grade style within a silica-sericite altered volcano-sedimentary unit, and a higher-grade style linked to intense brittle-ductile deformation and strong silica-pyrite alteration. This framework will guide ongoing and future drilling programs.

Ongoing Drilling and Exploration Plans

Complementing the diamond drilling, Yandal has completed three air-core lines spaced 400 metres apart to the southeast of the Arrakis discovery, aimed at testing the continuation of the mineralised stratigraphy. Results from this program are expected from mid-December. Additionally, a circa 5,000-metre RC drilling program has commenced, designed to test the 2.2-kilometre strike of the Arrakis trend on 200-metre spaced lines. These efforts will refine the geological model and help assess the scale of the mineralised system ahead of the 2026 drilling season.

Strategic Outlook and Company Position

Yandal Resources’ Managing Director, Chris Oorschot, emphasised the momentum gained through these exploration activities, noting the company’s strong cash position and readiness to ramp up operations post-wet season. Preparations include infrastructure upgrades and expanding the operational team to support an extensive 2026 exploration program across Arrakis, the New England Granite target area, and the Flushing Meadows deposit. The company anticipates further assay results from the completed diamond drilling throughout December, with RC drilling results expected from late December into January.
