A Growing Discovery in Idaho

Resolution Minerals Ltd (ASX – RML) has announced a significant expansion of its gold discovery at the Golden Gate North Prospect, part of the Horse Heaven Project in Idaho, USA. The latest assay results from six diamond core holes reveal broad, near-surface gold mineralisation extending continuously over a 600-metre strike length. Importantly, the mineralisation remains open both along strike and at depth, suggesting considerable upside potential.

The company’s initial phase of drilling, comprising six reported holes out of a planned 57, has already delivered impressive intercepts. Highlights include intervals such as 240.8 metres at 0.64 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from surface in hole HH-GG25-004C, and 253 metres at 1.50 g/t from surface in HH-GG25-003C, which ended in mineralisation. These results confirm the presence of a large intrusion-related gold system (IRGS) within the Stibnite Mining District, a region known for its prolific mineral deposits.

Geological Context and Significance

The gold mineralisation is hosted within altered granitic rocks and associated shear zones, consistent with IRGS models that have produced some of the world’s largest gold deposits. The style of mineralisation, including associations with pyrite and arsenopyrite, aligns closely with nearby deposits such as the fully permitted Stibnite Gold Project, located just 6 kilometres away.

Resolution’s CEO of US Operations, Craig Lindsay, emphasised the scale and potential of the discovery, noting that the initial drill holes cover only a fraction of the 3-kilometre strike length targeted. The company’s acquisition of a 25-acre processing and infrastructure site adjoining Horse Heaven further strengthens the project’s prospects by providing a potential future hub for processing gold, antimony, and tungsten.

Next Steps and Outlook

Resolution has completed its 10-hole Phase 1 diamond core program, with assay results for the final holes imminent. Additionally, reverse circulation drilling has been completed with assays pending. The company plans to ramp up its drilling efforts in 2026, aiming to complete approximately 45 additional holes to test a 2.5-kilometre portion of the Golden Gate strike length.

Metallurgical testing is also planned to better understand the processing characteristics of the mineralisation. These steps will be critical in advancing the project towards resource estimation and potential development.

Lead Geologist Austin Zinsser highlighted that the recent drill results, particularly the southern step-out hole, demonstrate the system’s extension beyond historical drilling and reinforce the interpretation of a significant IRGS with similarities to the Stibnite Gold Project.

Cautious Optimism Amidst Uncertainties

While the results are promising, the company notes that true widths of mineralisation are not yet confirmed due to limited data on orientation. Additionally, some assay results remain pending, and metallurgical characteristics have yet to be fully assessed. Nonetheless, the combination of scale, geological setting, and infrastructure access positions Horse Heaven as a compelling multi-commodity project for Resolution Minerals and its shareholders.

Bottom Line?

As Resolution Minerals advances its drilling and testing programs, the Golden Gate North discovery could reshape the Stibnite Mining District’s gold landscape.

Questions in the middle?

  • How will pending assay results from remaining drill holes influence the overall resource potential?
  • What metallurgical characteristics will the mineralisation exhibit, and how might this affect processing strategies?
  • Can Resolution leverage its processing site acquisition to accelerate project development and reduce costs?
