Wallbrook’s Emerging Gold Camp Faces Critical Resource Definition Phase
Nexus Minerals has reported significant exploration progress at its Wallbrook Gold Project, identifying five promising prospects advancing towards resource definition drilling in early 2026. Recent aircore drilling confirmed strong extensional growth and new mineralised zones, reinforcing Wallbrook’s potential as an emerging gold camp.
- Five regional prospects identified, Branches, Payns, Clement, Amand, Godfrey
- Aircore drilling campaign completed with 295 holes totaling 10,113 metres
- Branches prospect shows strike extensions and new parallel mineralised structures
- Resource definition drilling planned for Q1 2026
- MC3.3 target discounted due to lack of coherent mineralisation
Exploration Momentum at Wallbrook
Nexus Minerals Limited (ASX – NXM) has delivered a robust update on its Wallbrook Gold Project, situated 140 kilometres northeast of Kalgoorlie, Western Australia. The company’s systematic regional exploration efforts have yielded five distinct prospects, Branches, Payns, Clement, Amand, and Godfrey, that are now progressing towards resource definition drilling scheduled for the first quarter of 2026.
This latest phase of exploration was underpinned by an extensive aircore drilling campaign comprising 295 holes and over 10,000 metres drilled. The program focused on expanding known mineralised corridors and testing new targets, with a particular emphasis on the Branches prospect, where the results confirmed significant strike extensions and the discovery of parallel mineralised zones to the east of previous drilling.
Five Prospects with Material Growth Potential
The five prospects identified each exhibit substantial mineralised footprints, ranging from 650 metres by 250 metres at Clement to 1,700 metres by 600 metres at Amand. Notably, the Branches prospect, located just 3 kilometres north of the Crusader-Templar deposit, revealed high-grade gold intercepts including 5 metres at 17.91 grams per tonne gold within an 8-metre interval averaging 11.37 grams per tonne.
Payns, situated south along strike of operating mines, also demonstrated compelling grades with intercepts such as 5 metres at 8.10 grams per tonne gold, including a standout 1 metre at 30.05 grams per tonne. Clement, adjacent to the Crusader-Templar deposit, showed evidence of a connected mineralised system, with a notable intercept of 15 metres at 5.21 grams per tonne gold from 116 metres depth.
Strategic Location and Infrastructure Advantage
All prospects are located on granted mining leases, strategically positioned near existing infrastructure and the near-term production optionality offered by the Crusader-Templar deposit. This proximity not only reduces development risk but also enhances the potential for efficient resource conversion and project advancement.
Importantly, the Wallbrook project lies adjacent to Northern Star Resources’ Carosue Dam operations, including the Karari and Whirling Dervish underground mines, underscoring the district’s established gold endowment and infrastructure network.
Next Steps and Forward Outlook
With the aircore drilling results now integrated, Nexus plans to commence resource definition reverse circulation drilling in early 2026 to further delineate and expand these high-priority prospects. The company has discounted the MC3.3 target following a lack of coherent mineralisation, allowing focus to remain on the more promising zones.
Managing Director Andy Tudor highlighted the disciplined and methodical approach that has underpinned the exploration success, emphasizing the emerging scale and quality of the Wallbrook gold camp. He noted the compelling strategic advantage presented by resource growth opportunities in a district supported by near-term production potential and existing infrastructure.
Bottom Line?
As Nexus moves into resource definition drilling, Wallbrook’s emerging gold camp status could reshape its growth trajectory.
Questions in the middle?
- How will resource definition drilling results impact the current Mineral Resource estimates?
- What are the timelines and capital requirements for advancing Wallbrook towards production?
- Could further discoveries at Wallbrook attract strategic partnerships or joint ventures?
