Wildcat Resources Unveils Massive Expansion at Bolt Cutter Central Lithium Discovery
Wildcat Resources has significantly extended its Bolt Cutter Central lithium discovery near its Tabba Tabba Project in Western Australia, revealing a large, open-ended pegmatite system with multiple high-grade lithium intercepts.
- Bolt Cutter Central mineralisation extends over 1.4km northwest and 800m northeast
- High-grade lithium intercepts up to 9m at 1.84% Li2O reported
- Harry and Hermione pegmatite swarms confirmed as a single, larger system
- Diamond drilling to commence January 2026 for expansion and metallurgical testing
- Company well funded with $51.2 million cash as of September 2025
Discovery Expansion
Wildcat Resources Limited (ASX – WC8) has announced a substantial expansion of its Bolt Cutter Central lithium discovery, located approximately 10 kilometres west of its flagship Tabba Tabba Lithium-Tantalum Project in Western Australia. Recent reverse circulation drilling results have extended the known mineralised pegmatite system to more than 1.4 kilometres in a north-westerly direction and 800 metres northeast, with mineralisation remaining open in most directions.
High-Grade Intercepts Confirmed
The company reported multiple high-grade lithium intercepts from the latest drilling campaign, including standout results such as 9.0 metres at 1.84% lithium oxide (Li2O) from 128 metres depth, and 7.0 metres at 1.03% Li2O from 49 metres. These intercepts reinforce the presence of a stacked pegmatite system, with mineralisation appearing to repeat both at depth and along strike.
Connecting Pegmatite Swarms
Drilling between the previously identified Harry and Hermione pegmatite swarms indicates these are part of a larger, interconnected pegmatite system. This discovery of continuity between swarms suggests a more extensive lithium-bearing structure than initially understood, enhancing the prospectivity of the area.
Next Phase of Exploration
With the reconnaissance reverse circulation drilling program now complete, Wildcat is awaiting assay results from 14 additional drillholes expected in January 2026. To further delineate the discovery and support metallurgical testwork, diamond drilling is scheduled to commence in January 2026. This next phase aims to expand the scale of the discovery and provide material for processing studies.
Strong Financial Position
Wildcat Resources remains well funded with $51.2 million in cash as of 30 September 2025, positioning the company to aggressively pursue exploration and development activities at Bolt Cutter Central and its broader Tabba Tabba Project. The Tabba Tabba Project itself holds a maiden JORC Mineral Resource Estimate of 74.1 million tonnes at 1.0% Li2O and a Probable Ore Reserve of 46.3 million tonnes at 0.99% Li2O, underscoring the strategic value of Wildcat’s lithium assets in Western Australia.
Bottom Line?
As Wildcat prepares for diamond drilling and metallurgical testing, the true scale and economic potential of Bolt Cutter Central remain tantalisingly open.
Questions in the middle?
- How will the pending assay results from the 14 drillholes influence the resource model?
- What metallurgical characteristics will the diamond drilling samples reveal about lithium extraction?
- Could the interconnected pegmatite swarms translate into a significant resource upgrade?
