RocketDNA’s Growing Footprint in Mining Automation

RocketDNA Ltd (ASX – RKT), a specialist in AI-powered autonomous drone solutions, has announced new purchase orders totaling around A$1 million from existing mining customers. These contracts underscore the rising demand for automated survey and data services that enhance safety and operational efficiency across mining sites in Australia and Africa.

The highlight is a fresh 12-month contract with BHP Western Australian Iron Ore (WAIO), valued at approximately A$350,000. This marks RocketDNA’s initial deployment within BHP’s iron ore operations, with rollout expected to begin early next year. The contract includes autonomous aerial surveys using RocketDNA’s xBot platform, alongside access to the company’s SiteTube cloud-based visualization and reporting software.

Strengthening Global Presence with Assmang and Norton Gold Fields

In South Africa, RocketDNA secured a 12-month extension at Assmang’s Khumani Iron Ore Mine, valued at about A$360,000, continuing drone survey and data services that support monthly reconciliation and operational coordination. Additionally, a new 12-month contract for two xBot units at Assmang’s King and Bruce areas, worth roughly A$200,000, follows a successful proof-of-concept demonstration. These contracts reinforce RocketDNA’s scalable multi-site model across continents.

Meanwhile, Norton Gold Fields has increased its engagement by ordering two additional xBot units valued at approximately A$240,000, reflecting growing operational reliance on autonomous survey capabilities to boost production and safety.

Scaling Software and Autonomous Solutions

RocketDNA’s strategy extends beyond hardware deployment. The company’s SiteTube platform is gaining traction as mining clients shift towards high-frequency geospatial data routines, including pit wall scans and stockpile surveys. This cloud-based tool facilitates real-time data access and collaboration across planning, production, and operational control teams.

Following a recent capital raise, RocketDNA plans to invest further in software development to enhance SiteTube and its Skylink products, positioning itself to meet increasing demand for integrated autonomous systems and real-time data delivery.

Managing Director Christopher Clark highlighted the company’s progress in embedding its solutions within customer workflows, noting that initial trials have matured into scalable programs that deliver immediate return on investment through productivity gains and improved safety.
