How Alligator Energy Nailed Samphire Pilot Plant Delivery Ahead of Schedule

Milestone Achieved in Uranium Project Development

Alligator Energy Ltd has reached a significant milestone with the practical completion of its pilot plant at the Samphire Uranium Project. The construction phase, which began in early October 2025, was completed safely, on schedule, and notably under budget. This achievement underscores the company’s disciplined project management and the effective collaboration with contractor Ahrens, despite the inherent complexities of building a new pilot plant in a challenging environment.

The successful completion of both Stage 1 and Stage 2 commissioning phases; covering construction verification and energisation; has allowed Alligator to regain control of the site. This transition is critical as it enables the company to initiate the final pre-operation activities, including dry and wet commissioning scheduled to start in January 2026.

Field Recovery Trial – A Key Next Step

Looking ahead, the Field Recovery Trial (FRT) is set to commence in February 2026. This trial is designed to validate the in-situ recovery (ISR) process at Samphire, confirming operational parameters and recovery characteristics essential for future development decisions. The initial results, expected in the first quarter of 2026, will provide a crucial near-term catalyst for the project and Alligator’s broader uranium strategy.

CEO Andrea Marsland-Smith highlighted the importance of this phase, noting that the high-quality facility delivered within budget and on time positions the company strongly as it moves into commissioning and trial operations. The outcomes of the FRT will feed directly into the Bankable Feasibility Study, targeted for completion in early 2027, which will be pivotal in shaping the project’s commercial viability.

Strategic Developments on the Horizon

Alongside the FRT, Alligator Energy is progressing with the mining lease permitting process and plans to release an updated Mineral Resource Estimate in the first half of 2026. These parallel activities reflect a busy and critical year ahead for the company as it advances the Samphire project toward full-scale development.

The company’s strong safety record during construction; with only one minor first-aid incident; also speaks to its commitment to maintaining high standards and managing risks effectively. This focus on safety and operational discipline will be essential as Alligator transitions from construction to operational trials and eventual production.
