Hasties Drilling Yields 23m at 1.05g/t Gold and 28m at 0.95% Copper

Rincon Resources has reported robust gold and copper assay results from its recent drilling at the Hasties Main deposit, extending mineralisation by 150 meters and confirming grades comparable to the nearby Telfer Mine.

  • 14-hole reverse circulation drilling completed at Hasties Main deposit
  • Near-surface mineralisation extended by approximately 150 meters along strike
  • Multiple high-grade gold and copper zones confirmed consistent with February 2025 resource
  • Mineralisation remains open along strike and at depth, indicating further upside
  • Revised Mineral Resource Estimate and metallurgical test work planned for Q1 2026

Drilling Success at Hasties Main

Rincon Resources Limited (ASX – RCR) has announced significant results from its recent 14-hole reverse circulation drilling campaign at the Hasties Main deposit, part of the Telfer South Gold Project located just 10 kilometres south of the established Telfer Mine in Western Australia's Eastern Pilbara region. The drilling, totaling 1,350 meters, was designed to test extensions of the mineralisation outlined in the company's February 2025 Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE).

The assay results reveal multiple zones of high-grade gold and copper mineralisation in 12 of the 14 holes, with notable intercepts including 23 meters at 1.05 grams per tonne (g/t) gold and 28 meters at 0.95% copper. These grades are particularly encouraging when benchmarked against the Telfer Mine’s recent reported grades of 0.58 g/t gold and 0.09% copper, suggesting that Hasties Main could yield ore of comparable quality.

Extending the Resource and Confidence

The drilling has extended the known near-surface mineralisation by approximately 150 meters along strike, effectively nearly doubling the strike length from the original 200-meter pit shells defined in the maiden MRE. Additionally, the program has strengthened confidence in the mineralisation within the resource’s transition zone at depth. Importantly, the mineralised envelope remains open both laterally and at depth, highlighting the potential for further resource growth.

Rincon’s Technical Director, Michael Griffiths, emphasised the significance of these results, noting that the grades and widths intersected are consistent with the existing resource and comparable to the nearby Telfer Mine’s ore. He highlighted that the expanded strike length and encouraging depth results provide scope to dramatically increase the ultimate size of the project.

Next Steps and Project Outlook

Following these positive outcomes, Rincon is awaiting density data and plans to select samples from within the orebody for preliminary gold and copper metallurgical test work. These results will feed into a revised JORC Mineral Resource Estimate scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2026.

The company has also submitted permits for a second-stage drilling program aimed at infilling and further expanding the Hasties Main resource, as well as extending exploration to the Hasties Southeast deposit, which was not covered in the current drilling phase. Additionally, Rincon plans to implement a Mobile Magneto-Telluric geophysical survey to refine future drill targeting.

Situated within a well-known magmatic gold-copper mineral system, the Telfer South Project covers over 540 square kilometres and more than 40 kilometres of prospective strike. The recent drilling results at Hasties Main reinforce the project's potential to become a significant contributor to Rincon’s portfolio and the broader regional mining landscape.

Bottom Line?

With mineralisation open and grades matching a major regional mine, Rincon’s next resource update will be closely watched.

Questions in the middle?

  • How will metallurgical test results impact the economic viability of Hasties Main ore?
  • What timeline can investors expect for permit approvals and commencement of the second drilling stage?
  • Could further drilling at Hasties Southeast significantly alter the overall resource profile?
