Impact Minerals’ Alluminous Teams with C4V to Fast-Track HiPurA® Battery Material

Strategic Partnership to Advance Battery Materials

Impact Minerals Limited (ASX – IPT) has announced a significant milestone in its high purity alumina (HPA) ambitions through its 50%-owned associate Alluminous Pty Ltd. The company has entered into a technology collaboration agreement with US-based battery innovator Charge CCCV LLC (C4V) to jointly develop and qualify the HiPurA® HPA process for use in advanced battery applications. This collaboration is a pivotal step in Impact’s strategy to build a vertically integrated HPA business, spanning from its Lake Hope natural feedstock to downstream modular production.

High purity alumina is a critical material in the manufacture of next-generation batteries, particularly for separator coatings, ceramic layers, and solid-state components. With global demand for battery-grade materials surging, especially in North America and Europe, securing reliable, non-Chinese sources of HPA is becoming increasingly important. This partnership positions Alluminous; and by extension Impact Minerals; as a potential supplier into these expanding clean-energy markets.

Accelerating Commercial Readiness

The collaboration leverages C4V’s expertise in battery cell design and ceramic-coating technologies, enabling Alluminous to undertake full cell testing that replicates the qualification standards of global battery manufacturers. This real-world validation is expected to significantly shorten the timeline from pilot production to commercial product readiness, a critical value driver for Impact’s downstream HPA strategy.

Alluminous’ pilot plant in Perth is now capable of batch operation, with ongoing optimisation aimed at continuous mode production. Initial HiPurA® sample batches will be sent to C4V for testing, with feedback guiding further development. The non-exclusive nature of the agreement allows Alluminous to continue exploring other downstream customer opportunities in parallel, maintaining flexibility in its commercial approach.

Broader Strategic Implications

Beyond technical development, the partnership offers strategic benefits by potentially opening doors to major battery gigafactory networks in the US, India, and Europe. It also enhances Impact’s visibility within US supply-chain initiatives focused on securing high-purity materials domestically. The collaboration supports the company’s broader vision of integrating its Lake Hope feedstock with downstream HiPurA® production, expanding product capabilities and accelerating revenue timelines.

Further integration work is underway with Edith Cowan University under a CRC-P grant, highlighting ongoing efforts to refine the process and scale production. Additionally, C4V’s strong US presence may facilitate assessment of a demonstration plant in the region and access to government funding programs aimed at bolstering domestic battery material supply chains.

As Alluminous advances pilot plant operations and testing with C4V progresses, Impact Minerals continues to develop its Lake Hope project and evaluate integration pathways. The coming quarters will be critical in demonstrating the commercial viability of HiPurA® HPA and solidifying Impact’s position in the competitive battery materials market.
